    Overlay Paper Impregnation Line

    Overlay paper (the effective component aluminium oxide) is commonly used as the protective layer on the surface of laminate flooring, HPL and high-end furniture boards.It providing functions of wear resistance, scratch resistance and impact resistance, and protecting the decorative patterns beneath.

    Production Process of Overlay Paper Impregntaion Line

    Overlay paper usually has three production processes:

    The original paper already contains aluminium oxide components, and the impregnation line is the same as normal decorative paper.

    Use a liquid melamine resin solution containing aluminum oxide. After first impregnation station, spray it onto the surface of the paper and then put it in an oven for drying.

    Use the dry powder form of aluminum oxide. After one impregnation process, sprinkle it on the surface before drying.

    Core Equipment of Overlay Paper Impregntaion Line


    The following introduction is based on the impregnation process using liquid aluminum oxide.


    Un-winder

    Unwinder with air-swelling shafts(or non-shaft) to continuously unwind and produce, and keep the correct paper tension constant through the automatic regulating mechanism.

    Two working positions with no-stop roll changing, automatic tension control (with an accuracy of ±0.5N), ensuring smooth operation of the paper sheet.


    Automatic splicer(option)

    Automatically paper splicing from the top. Stick the new paper web to the old paper if the roll is changed and cut off the old paper. Two edge cutting devices for the edge trimming, can save resin.


    First impregnating station

    It consists of a frame, S-roller, backing rollers, metering rollers, glue basin, etc. In this station paper is pre-impregnated and the glue pick-up is controlled by adjusting the gap between the metering rollers.


    ARP coating system

    A precise coating equipment specially designed for aluminum oxide dispersion liquid/suspension. It evenly distributes the liquid containing Al₂O₃ on the substrate surface through ultrasonic atomization or low-pressure airflow atomization.

    Formula: High-purity Al₂O₃ powder (particle size 10–50 μm) + melamine resin / water / organic solvent + dispersant / anti-settling agent / curing agent etc.,


    Secondary coating machine

    Newly designed frame for more stable operation. The smoothing roller frame can be raised in its entirety to facilitate the cleaning of the anilox rollers. Two times resin covering onto both sides of the paper according to process requirements.


    Dryer

    Air flotation type dryer, drying the paper after first impregnator and secondary coator. The heating medium can choose to use thermal oil or natural gas. Special frame construction and insulation for energy savings.


    Cooler

    Attached to the back of the dryer to cool the paper. Lengths can be customized on request and equipped with a cooling device.


    Web aligner

    Enable accurate and reliable web tension control and aligning of the web come from dryers.


    Tractor

    The traction machine is the driving unit that provides traction for the entire production line. Circulating cooling water is continuously introduced into the rollers to cool the paper.


    Paper cutter

    Precise sheet cutting by means of START-STOP function and spin-type knife design to ensure optimized wear combined with excellent cutting quality.


    Stacking system

    Consists of a belt and lifting table for the stacking of finished paper. A double-layer automatic stacking system can be used as an option depending on the requirements of the production process.
