HPL/CPL Impregnation Line
The decorative paper (surface layer) and the kraft paper (core layer) of HPL are respectively fully impregnated, dried and pre-cured with melamine resin (MF) and phenolic resin (PF), preparing for the subsequent process of high-temperature and high-pressure lamination into a board.
For some special orders, extra wear-resistant paper is added to enhance the wear resistance.
Overlay paper( one stage/two stage impregnation line):
Base material:25 - 80g/m² raw paper.
Resin: Melamine resin (MF) - provides wear resistance, stain resistance.
Surface decorative paper( two stage impregnation line):
Base material: 50 - 80g/m² printed decorative paper.
Resin: Melamine resin (MF) - provides color, gloss, wear resistance, stain resistance, and fire resistance.
Core layer of kraft paper(one stage impregnation line):
Base material: 120 - 200g/m² high-strength kraft paper
Resin: Phenolic resin (PF) - provides board strength, rigidity, water resistance, and resistance to deformation.

How to build HPL/CPL Impregnation Line
Un-winder
Unwinder with air-swelling shafts(or non-shaft) to continuously unwind and produce, and keep the correct paper tension constant through the automatic regulating mechanism.
Two working positions with no-stop roll changing, automatic tension control (with an accuracy of ±0.5N), ensuring smooth operation of the paper sheet.
Automatic splicer(option)
Automatically paper splicing from the top. Stick the new paper web to the old paper if the roll is changed and cut off the old paper. Two edge cutting devices for the edge trimming, can save resin.
First impregnating station
It consists of a frame, S-roller, backing rollers, metering rollers, glue basin, etc. In this station paper is pre-impregnated and the glue pick-up is controlled by adjusting the gap between the metering rollers.
Dryer
Air flotation type dryer, drying the paper after first impregnator and secondary coator. The heating medium can choose to use thermal oil or natural gas. Special frame construction and insulation for energy savings.
Cooler
Attached to the back of the dryer to cool the paper. Lengths can be customized on request and equipped with a cooling device.
Web aligner
Enable accurate and reliable web tension control and aligning of the web come from dryers.
Tractor
The traction machine is the driving unit that provides traction for the entire production line. Circulating cooling water is continuously introduced into the rollers to cool the paper.
Paper cutter
Precise sheet cutting by means of START-STOP function and spin-type knife design to ensure optimized wear combined with excellent cutting quality.
Stacking system
Consists of a belt and lifting table for the stacking of finished paper. A double-layer automatic stacking system can be used as an option depending on the requirements of the production process.
Characteristic of HPL/CPL Impregnation Line
(1) High precision, meeting the strict requirements of HPL
The glue quantity is precisely controlled (±2%), ensuring uniform glue content in each layer of paper and avoiding problems such as glue leakage, dry flowering, blistering, and delamination after pressing.
The volatile matter/pre-curing degree is stable, ensuring the best resin fluidity during HPL pressing, resulting in a dense board surface, good gloss, and high strength.
(2) Dual-line configuration, flexible production
Usually, 1 melamine line (surface layer) + 1 phenolic line (core layer) are paired.
It can be independently produced or supply materials simultaneously, meeting the配料 requirements of HPL multi-layer structures.
(3) High efficiency and energy saving, stable production capacity
The air-float drying oven has high thermal efficiency.
Continuous production, with a single line's annual production capacity reaching 1500-3000 tons of impregnated paper.
(4) High automation,stable quality
Full PLC control, reducing manual intervention, and strong batch consistency.
Self-diagnosis of faults,data recording.
